Fake Name Generator — Random Identity for Testing & Privacy

Fake Name Generator

This free fake name generator creates a complete fictional identity in one click: full name, email address, phone number, street address, date of birth and username, in American, British or Spanish style. It is designed for software testing, design mockups, fiction and protecting your privacy on low-stakes sign-ups.

How to use the fake name generator

  1. Choose a gender, or leave it on random.
  2. Choose a nationality style: American, British or Spanish.
  3. Press Generate Identity. Press Generate another for a new profile.

How the identities are created

The generator combines common first names and surnames for the selected country with randomly assembled addresses, birthdays and usernames. To avoid ever producing someone’s real contact details, it deliberately uses reserved values:

  • Email addresses use example.com, example.org and example.net, domains reserved by internet standards for documentation and testing.
  • American phone numbers use the 555-01XX range set aside for fictional use.
  • British phone numbers use the 07700 900XXX range that Ofcom reserves for TV, film and drama.
  • Street numbers, streets and cities are combined at random, so the full address does not point to a specific home.

Legitimate uses for a fake name generator

  • Software testing: fill registration forms, databases and checkout flows with realistic data without exposing real customers.
  • Design and prototypes: make mockups and presentations look real instead of using “John Doe” everywhere.
  • Writing and games: name characters in a novel, a script or a role-playing campaign.
  • Teaching: create sample records for spreadsheets, SQL exercises or data-protection training.
  • Privacy: sign up to a newsletter or a forum where your real identity is not needed.

What you must not do

A made-up identity must never be used to deceive people or organisations. Using fake details to open bank accounts, get credit, sign contracts, avoid identity checks, impersonate someone or commit any kind of fraud is illegal in practically every country and breaks the terms of service of every serious platform. If a service legally requires your real identity, give your real details.

Frequently asked questions about the fake name generator

Are these real people?

No. Names are common first names and surnames combined at random, and contact details use reserved test ranges, so they do not belong to anyone.

Can I receive emails at the generated address?

No. The example domains do not accept mail. For a working throwaway inbox use a temporary email service.

Is it legal to use a fake name?

Using a pseudonym for testing, fiction or casual privacy is generally fine. Using it to deceive, defraud or bypass identity checks is not.

Can I generate data in bulk?

Click Generate as many times as you need. For thousands of rows, a test-data library in your programming language is faster.

Is anything stored?

No. Identities are created in your browser and disappear when you leave the page.
